Choosing a drinking water filtration system for your home can be a daunting task, especially when you consider the range of products available. To find the system that will work best for you, you should first have your water tested to see what you need. Heavy metals, chemicals, and biological contaminants should all be filtered from drinking water to keep it safe for your family. The size, cost, and amount of maintenance of the system are also important considerations.
Activated carbon filters can remove most chemicals like nitrites, chlorine, and sulfur through a process of adsorption in which the unwanted chemical molecules adhere to the carbon’s porous surface. Many types of activated carbon filters are paired with a ceramic filter that removes microbiological contaminants that can make you ill, such as giardia and coliform bacteria.

Carbon and ceramic filters are usually the least expensive type of drinking water filtration system. Some types attach directly to the faucet, while others come with a jug below the filter. Other carbon and ceramic filters are fitted to the water main that comes into the house. This type of filter must be changed or cleaned regularly because the carbon becomes impregnated with contaminants and bacteria collect on the ceramic component.

Reverse osmosis water filters force water through a semiporous membrane that removes most chemicals, and some heavy metals like lead, arsenic, and mercury. They can also filter out some of the lime, calcium, and magnesium that make water hard. Reverse osmosis systems are often paired with carbon and ceramic filters to take out chlorine and biological contaminants.

A reverse osmosis drinking water filtration system is usually more expensive than a carbon filter, and it creates a lot of contaminated waste water which goes down the drain and enters the groundwater. A reverse osmosis filter can be fitted under the kitchen sink, and there are larger systems that filter the home’s entire water supply. The membrane must be changed regularly to prevent buildup of bacteria and other contaminants.

Our range of pressure sand filter is used for the removal of suspended solids & turbidity. The pressure sand filter is extremely robust method of removing suspended solids from water. The filtration medium comprises of multiple layer of sand having different sizes & specific gravity. As per the needs of our customers, we can offer sand filters in various sizes and material apart from hand operated or fully automatically.

How it works?

This water treatment plant is used to generate the required operating pressure in it

Raw water is passed through sand filter at a pressure of 3.5 kg / cm2. This reduces the suspended solids that are present in the raw water

This filter has the ability to remove up to 30 to 50 micron of suspended solids to less then 5 ppm

It is mandatory to wash the filter daily with raw water for 20 to 30 minutes

For the filtration of partials below 30 to 50 micron, the cartridge filter is used

The pressure sand filters are offered by us in three series including MS series, SS series and FR series. The FR series is developed from fiber glass reinforced plastic (FGRP). These composite vessels have 1/3 the weight of carbon steel and its strength is directly comparable to steel. Having good aesthetic appearance, these require no maintenance. Some of the application areas of our pressure sand filter include:

Preparation of cooling water Treatment of waste water
Production of drinking water Filtration in swimming pools
Pre filtration for membrane systems Filtration of gray or surface water
Swimming pool water

The SS or stainless steel pressure sand filters find usage in:

Pharmaceutical product water

Dairy & food products

Beverages

Package drinking water

Cosmetics

The mild steel pressure sand filter find usage in following applications:

Filter high quantity of water

Thermoelectric power plants

Irrigation & farming

Aqua culture

Some of the application areas of our pressure sand filter include:

High performance Composite material
Thermoplastic liner of polyester Wall thickness 3.8 mm to 7.6 mm as per vessel diameter
100 % corrosion resistant Excellent bonding between inlet & PE liner
Better curing at high temperature 200 mm to 1,000 mm diameter
All are top opening & dia 450 mm onwards top & bottom opening 450 mm onward flange fitting
Operating Pressure: - 10.5 kgf/cm2 Operating temperature: - 490 C
250,000 times cycle test from 10 psi to 150 psi Vessels are NSF & PED certified

A water filtration unit is a unit or machine designed to extract impurities and chemicals from water. There are many different types and sizes of water filtration units. A water pitcher with a small filter kept in the fridge is considered to be a water filtration unit, while a whole house system that filters all water that enters a dwelling is also one. An industrial water filtration unit designed to remove heavy metals and chemicals is bigger, more complicated water filtration unit. These units operate differently, but each has a common purpose: to purify water.

Charcoal carbon filters make up approximately 95% of water filtration units purchased for residential use. The charcoal used in the filter is usually derived either from a coconut husk or a block of honeycombed carbon. Sometimes, a form of charcoal called silver impregnated charcoal is used. Each of these charcoals have positive ions that attract contaminants and chemicals with negative ions. The contaminates and chemicals, including Crypstosporidium and Giardia, are trapped and absorbed.

Most charcoal filters are able to effectively filter out contaminants for between six and nine months before losing their effectiveness. If there is too much sediment in the water, the charcoal filter may not be able to filter it all out or the filters may become clogged after a shorter time. In some cases, a sediment filter is added to ensure the charcoal filter remains effective and to ensure ensure proper filtration. The charcoal and sediment filters both allow healthy minerals to pass through.

Industrial water filtration units do not use charcoal, as home units do. This type of water filtration unit usually uses sand or walnut shells to capture large impurities, such as heavy metals, oil, and other chemicals. Sand and walnut shells can filter larger amounts of water in less time than charcoal filters. Sand and walnut shells are also less costly to purchase in large quantities than charcoal. An agitator may be used to ensure that all the water comes into contact with the sand or shells, helping to ensure that more contaminants are removed.

Tap Master Iron RO is an excellent well water treatment option that can remove up to 98% of iron, hydrogen sulfide, chlorine, chemicals, heavy metals, solids, and other contaminants from your well or municipal water source. The RO consist of advanced redox media alloys that act as catalysts to change soluble ferrous cations (clear, dissolved iron) into insoluble ferric hydroxide, which is then trapped in the iron filter’s sediment filter layer. Great to check out!

This well water treatment option is an upgraded version of the very popular point-of-entry Aquasana Rhino EQ-300 Whole House filter. The version is specifically designed for well water filtering in mind. It performs the same functions as the Rhino EQ-300, but in addition, it effectively performs well water treatment.

The EQ-300-85 uses KDF 85 medium to remove higher concentrations of iron and hydrogen sulfide that come from well water sources. It is also effective in controlling the build-up of scale in pipes, and also in controlling bacteria and algae in your water. The main filter needs replacement every 3 years while the pre-filter needs to be replaced once every 1 – 3 months

Well water filtration systems are ideal treatment options for home owners with private well water that may be contaminated with heavy metals and other harmful chemicals. Well water owners can test their drinking water by hiring a water testing laboratory or by self-testing with a portable or handy SenSafe Test Kit. Well water users can obtain a list of testing labs from their local health departments or the state environmental health agencies for a list of certified labs. Well water can be filtered as it enters the house (point-of-entry) for a full house treatment, or at the tap, refrigerator, or showerhead (point-of-use).
